Many cities, as a proactive way of cutting emissions and congestion, are introducing road user charging schemes. TollChecker^city has been designed to meet the demands of the urban environment. It provides high ALPR read rates despite the complexity of inner-city traffic: road works, cyclists, pedestrians and parked or turning vehicles do not affect system performance. Using a software (video) trigger the cameras capture international license plates around a city and produce a passage report. The compact design provides discrete operation and illumination technology allows 24 hour functionality, regardless of the weather conditions.
